The role:
As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for the monthly delivery of data from our various proprietary customer experience and brand insights data sources, as well as designing and building various automated data solutions for our stakeholders in the business.
You'll also maintain and grow our primary SQL data platform in the short term, and support the team in designing the future state for a CCO strategic data solution in the future
Additionally your working day could include sourcing and analysing wider customer data, net promoter score and brand / campaign data. Indeed, almost any type of information source that helps us to answer key questions, identify significant trends, draw insights and make conclusions.
You'll also work on high-level strategic data projects which look to harness our team’s unique data and systems expertise in the provision of innovative customer & brand reporting.
About you:
We're looking for a data professional with the right personal qualities to help us continually develop as a team. The ability to translate complex requests into accessible and straightforward recommendations is essential, alongside having an openness to change, a growth mindset and a desire for continuing personal development. The world of data and insight is constantly changing, as are the needs and behaviours of our customers, so our role is also to continually evolve our skills.
We welcome a range of analytical and data engineering backgrounds which will complement the capability we already have within the team. Fundamentally you’ll possess advanced SQL skills and experience of working with large datasets in a similar analytical or data engineering role'
In addition to this:
  • You’ll be adept at sourcing data from strategic sources (data warehouses etc.) and comfortable building data solutions to answer business questions
  • You’ll have a natural curiosity about the data’s commercial purpose, beyond the numbers
  • You’ll have an appreciation of agile principles with practical experience of working in an agile environment an advantage
  • Wider experience of other tools and technologies such as Python, Tableau and Power BI is also desirable.
  • There will also be opportunities to lead projects on both our BAU and strategic data engineering agendas and any experience in project or team management would definitely be advantageous.
